Eustachian Tube opens into the side of the nose
<<<<
<<<< If your head is truly flat
the nasal spray will run into the
sinus (ostia) and eustachian tube openings
The side of the nose is where all the action is.The sinuses and ear (eustachian) tube open here, AND the turbinates which warm, filter, and humidify the inspired air
ALL  ARE ON THE SIDE OF THE NOSE.  The middle of the nose (septum) merely separates the two sides. If nasal medication is going to be effective, it MUST be applied to the side of the nose.

The larynx (voice box) is at the top of the airways pictured here. As you progress into the lower airway the large main tube is the trachea. Allergic laryngitis and tracheitis are often under and/or misdiagnosed. The trachea splits into the main bronchi which keep on dividing into smaller and smaller tubes, until finally ending in the air sacs (alveoli) that exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. Asthma occurs when the medium and smaller airways become involved in the inflammatory process. These smaller airways are not rigid (the larger ones are held open by cartilage rings), and once inflammed, respond to a large number of allergens and irritants (triggers) by narrowing down and causing difficulty breathing/wheezing/coughing/mucus. The basic process in Asthma is  CHRONIC  INFLAMMATION.
